Because I too have been diagnosed with the autoimmune condition, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, in 2015. I have taken this journey myself.
And I’ll never share anything with you that I haven’t (or wouldn’t) tried myself.
Why I do what I do
When I was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, in 2015, I was shocked, overwhelmed and scared. I didn’t know what this meant in terms of my health, my life expectancy, and my life with my family! There was no one who I could talk to about it. There was no one to tell me that was going to be okay. I remember the specialist physician telling me, after my diagnosis, to “just eat more protein and you’ll be fine”.
I was not fine. After being overwhelmed by Google for information on what I can and should do, I didn’t do anything for a whole year. I was feeling so alone, and not to mention struggling with the ever-present exhaustion and the continued weight gain.
In September 2016, I decided to do a 30-day juice challenge. Out of desperation to feel better. Because I just couldn’t go on the way I have been going on.
This was the turning point in my health. I started feeling more energy. My skin cleared. My brain felt awake for the first time in years! I lost weight. I slept through, waking up refreshed!
Then I started to research what else I can do to be healthier. Since then, I have made a lot of changes to calm my immune system, decrease my antibodies and increase my energy and wellbeing.
I have also starting working with a functional medicine doctor. This has been life-changing for me!
Now, I help other Hashimoto’s sufferers and people who struggle with hypothyroid symptoms to take ownership of their health, to create amazing results by making simple lifestyle changes, and having empowered and informed discussions with their doctors.
Talking about thyroid health
